Students

Students affiliated with the Water Institute are registered students at UNC, and have active interest (through their own research, Engineers Without Borders (EWB) or students of the world activities) in water-health-environment linkages. Water Institute students pursue research in one or more of the Water Institute-defined focus areas; and often work alongside advisers who are themselves affiliated to the Water Institute. We encourage Water Institute-associated students to pursue an inter-disciplinary outlook on their work, to maintain high academic standards and to actively network among their fellow Water Institute-associates.

No direct funding is provided for Water Institute affiliates, although associates will be alerted to funding opportunities emerging from Water Institute. Student affiliates will also have the opportunity to work alongside Water Institute staff and faculty when planning, implementing, and analyzing data for Water Institute associated projects.
